Bank Marketing Clarity

Our Bank Marketing Expertise

Mike-bank-marketing

Through our work with banking clients over the years, the Sells Agency has developed a knack for all things bank marketing, which prompted us to create our Bank Clarity division.

Bank Clarity is led by CEO and owner Mike Sells, a 28-year veteran of the advertising and public relations industry. He's a graduate of the Bank Marketing Association’s School of Bank Marketing and previously served as the Advertising Manager for First Commercial Bank in Little Rock; which was later bought by Regions Bank. Mike is a frequent speaker on bank marketing issues, having presented at the ABA's national Marketing Conference and taught at the Arkansas Bankers' Association Marketing School at Arkansas State University.

Since Sells was founded in 1995, the agency has more than 23 years of bank marketing experience in 8 states.  We have worked with banks of all sizes (from start-ups with no assets to regionals with more than $15 billion) across the South in developing advertising, marketing, public relations, interactive and research strategies that drive sales, increase market share and enhance profitable growth.

But no matter the industry, the Sells Agency helps companies across the country align their marketing programs with their business goals, and we care as much about gathering and tracking results as our clients do. To learn more about our clients outside of bank marketing, visit www.sellsagency.com

Meet Our Team

Drew2Drew Finkbeiner
VP/Director of Account Services

Drew is the primary contact for the agency’s largest client, Arvest Bank. While focusing on centralized marketing efforts, he is heavily involved in strategy development and project management for a multitude of locally operated markets, as well. A major project that he supervises is the bank’s digital marketing, something he finds most rewarding due to its immediate and easily trackable results.

Jon2Jon Hodges
VP/Executive Creative Director

A member of the Sells Agency since 2002, Jon has worked for multiple banking clients, not only as an art director, but also broadcast production for several television campaigns, video editing for the 1 Million Meals launch and occasional photographer. For him, one of his favorite projects was Arvest’s “Changing World” campaign, which combined CGI and live action to seamlessly demonstrate a customer’s ever-evolving life. He also enjoyed working on the bank’s latest campaign, which let him hear how much customers love their bank, proving that the Sells Agency really does have good clients.

Kristen2Kristen Burgeis
Senior Account Executive

While her career has involved many creative presentations, the one she remembers most is for campaign concepts that were presented to a group of 50 decision makers from across the bank’s separate markets. Three campaigns were shown and voting was actually determined in a caucus-type setting where casting a vote meant physically standing with others that supported you. While her day-to-day work for banks may not involve quite as many people, it is varied, including multiple markets and numerous client contacts, all for the same institution.

lbradburyLauren Bradbury
Account Executive

At the agency, Lauren serves as the primary contact for many clients, including those in the financial industry. She develops annual marketing plans, manages creative projects, keeps budgets in check and tracks and analyzes promotional campaigns. Lauren’s primary role is to represent the agency to our clients and to represent the client to those within the agency, a balancing act she pulls off every day.

Mark2Mark Schulte
Creative Director

During Mark’s 14 years with the Sells Agency, he has worked on all of the agency’s financial clients, including regional banks, small, hometown institutions and investment firms. He has supervised a creative product that has involved everything from making music out of only banking sounds to creating a “Dating Game”-type show where customers interviewed their new bank. The most rewarding? Creating a campaign that involved traveling to five cities in one week to talk to more than 200 customers about their experiences.

JoelJoel Richardson
Senior Art Director

Joel graduated from the Portfolio Center and started his advertising career working for a financial institution that was actually part bank and part non-profit, providing critical community banking services to underserved, poor communities in the Delta while also improving their lives through the use of new health, education and youth development opportunities. There he created all of their advertising campaigns, POS materials, annual reports, online banking platforms and numerous non-profit websites. He joined the Sells Agency in 2013, where he handles a diverse range of clients.

hroyalHeather Royal
Senior Media Planner/Buyer

Heather’s previous job was as a marketing assistant at the University of South Carolina where she worked with banks who were spending big bucks to sponsor athletic events. At the Sells Agency, she’s the one who’s spending the banks’ money, wisely finding the most cost-effective media, negotiating rates and ensuring that every dollar gets the most impressions possible. She works closely with Greg on all accounts and has lived to tell about it.
